60s Mary Janes
Mary-Jane shoes are incredibly popular, but I love the square toe, chunky heel, and bright patent leather touches of true 60s shoes. Just a bit more unique with a simple dress.
Drop Waist Dress
This could be from the 60s or 80s. I am loving the look of a drop waist and vintage-y details like bows, ruffles, or collars. I am looking all over social media for good local shops who carry cute options!
Vintage Silk Scarf
These are my go-to because they are so versatile, accessible, and a relatively affordable way to make an outfit look more vintage. I always pick them out as I’m checking out at stores, and I like them in my hair or tied around my neck with a blouse and a pair of cigarette pants.

Statement Ring
I have been playing around with mixing metals recently and want to curate the perfect ring stack. I already have some gold and silver rings that are quite minimal so I’m looking for some statement rings to add to my collection. I feel like a ring stack is the ultimate cool girl accessory and can elevate any outfit. I don’t really have a budget when it comes to jewellery - it varies so much depending on the materials used.
Paloma Wool Knit
I always keep an eye out for any Paloma Wool knits or mesh long sleeves because I think they’re so timeless and cool! I love the brand and their designs and I’m always looking to save some money by shopping second hand. It’s still really cold here in Sydney and a fun knit is such an easy throw on to instantly make an outfit. Anything under $200 is a good price for a Paloma Wool knit. For the long sleeves I would expect to pay around $200.
Vintage Leather Cowboy Boots
I really want a pair of vintage leather cowboy boots for spring – bonus points if they’re red. I’m picturing styling them with white mini dresses, or even denim shorts for that true cowboy look. I think cowboy boots are an investment piece that will always come back in style. I would love to find some for around the $200 mark.

Vintage Bass Pro
Growing up in Missouri, I have always loved trips to Bass Pro Shops (especially the one in Springfield). Recently I have been searching for vintage Bass Pro jackets and hats, ones that include the older logo vertically. I found this bomber jacket that I would love to pair with jorts and boots for an early autumn look.
Wildfox Sweater
On my TikTok, I have been doing a series about “Early Internet It Girls,” and while not an “it girl” necessarily, I have brought up the brand Wildfox many times. I feel like this brand was a cool girl staple of the early 2010s. With that era coming back into fashion, I would love to find a few vintage Wildfox pieces, looking specifically for graphic tshirts or ones with the giant heart on it. I would style this, or a Wildfox find like this, with a long skirt and bandanna - maybe a large belt too.
Tweed Dress
I have always loved anything with a big collar and anything tweed, but I seem to be missing something with both in my closet. I have been looking for a tweed dress for winter that I can rewear season after season. As I love a good standout piece, I am trying to look for more classic pieces lately that I can simply “throw on” for an outfit for an event or gathering. I feel like collars are also going to make a big statement this winter, so I would love to find more pieces that include the Peter Pan collar (and they remind me of the late 2000s!).

Black Moto/Combat boots
Sometimes there’s solace in letting pieces you’ve over-worn go… Throughout the years, I’ve collected and donated so many of my black moto/combat boots - to hope for a new home for them. I had this perfect pair from Dolce Vita but I wore them so much that my toes became imprinted on the insides, to the point where they became super uncomfortable cause they fit… well-all too well. I know that sounds so silly, but I swear it to be true! I’ve been on the hunt for a pair to replace those, and those other boots lost somewhere between high school and college – constantly wishing for ones that emulate the same feeling & to continue wearing them through the upcoming seasons!
Chunky Gold Ring
I have a nice amount of jewelry; some that have been gifted to me from my ancestors and some that found their way to me from friends or lovers. The only piece I always feel like I’m “missing” is a chunkier or rather, heftier gold ring. With so many pretty, dainty, and lacey ones in my arsenal – I find having a thicker band would be really exciting to mix and match with those pieces, old and new. I often overlook the jewelry counters at thrift stores, but I am hopeful in the next few months, I start opening my eyes to what’s always been right in front of me! If that’s not a metaphor for searching for symbolism, I don’t know what is.
Floor Length Cardigan/Robe
Oh, this one is for the dramatics! I watched Harry Potter for the first time really late in life - and my admiration for the series has never been shy of admitting that. I’d love to continue dressing as dark academic as possible – to truly breathe in the fashionable silhouettes of those Hogwarts walls. A floor length cardigan styled robe would be the perfect solution to throw atop, or even underneath an outfit that might appear practical to the eye, but very powerful to the soul. Really eager to conjure this one up in my search!

Netted Mesh Top
Thrifting pieces that unlock new outfits whilst using my current wardrobe is key for me. A netted mesh layer is perfect for that! A basic blank tee is transformed by a netted mesh layer and really allows for infinite rewearing options. Ideally I would find one in red or black as these are two colours that are a staple in my wardrobe color palette. For the perfect mesh layer I wouldn’t want to pay more than £15 ($19).
Autumn Hoodie
It may seem early to shop for autumn, but one of my biggest thrift tips is shopping second hand for the next season so you’re prepared and don’t feel the pull to want to buy fast fashion to suit that season’s weather when you already have cute second hand pieces for that season. This top can really help me be slower with my wardrobe. I’m currently on the look out for a big comfy hoodies that has cool graphics on. I love experimenting with fashion but some days I want to just be cozy and still feel cool. I wouldn’t want to pay more than a tenner for an autumn hoodie as I know there’s quite a few graphic hoodies on the market and I could definitely find one for that price.
Grunge Baggy Jeans
This summer I seem to be seeing loads of baggy trousers in my favourite place to get fashion inspo from: On the tube. I love this trend and can’t wait to be able to find more second hand in my size to incorporate into my wardrobe. Knowing when trends fit into your personal style is also a big tip to consume slower fashion. I know this trend will totally fit my style and I’ll rewear the piece so much even once the trend is dead and buried! Baggy jeans for mid-size people are harder to find, so I would be willing to pay up to £40 for the perfect pair for me!
