Skeletons by Daniel MacCready
“Vintage fashion was a natural attraction for a musician like me who was inspired by the look and sound of the 1960s/1970s. In the 2010s, I was playing shows and always looking for hip old clothing, and at that time, I worked in sales and merchandising at a world-renowned boutique called H. Lorenzo, dressing celebrities and Saudi princes.
In 2017 my love for vintage and my knowledge of running a boutique incepted into a brick-and-mortar in Echo Park, my primary stomping grounds. It was (and remains) a one-man-show catering greatly to the neighborhood vibe, but in 2021 LA covid culture shook me out of the city, and I didn’t expect to come back, yet I did, and in 2024 I miraculously reacquired my exact old store front at 1511 Echo Park Ave!
My inventory is men’s focused, but I also buy tees and jackets for women. I have $90-$200 1960s-1980s vintage denim jackets emphasizing American classics like Levi’s, Lee, and Wrangler. $35-65 tees from any decade with a huge emphasis on cotton tees that are wearable, not ‘funny’ stuff, nostalgic for nostalgia’s sake or ill-fitting polyester oddities. This is not a thrift store.
I do my best to have good band/tour tees on hand, but naturally they’ll be pricier. Also leather jackets in the $150-$400 range, Levi’s-centric jeans with straight or slightly flared leg, good button-ups and a smattering of designer pieces from Ralph Lauren, Prada, Kapital, Guidi, Filson, etc, that could be from any era, even 2025. Skeletons is absolutely a vintage boutique! But another guiding light is: if I’d wear it, I’ll stock it, and if I wouldn’t wear it, I won’t. My love for psychedelia and rock’n roll music are the currents beneath it all.”

AMT LA by Meika and Warren Franz
“I, Meika first began working in the vintage business in London in 2004 after meeting Warren not long before. Inspired by the world of vintage, I worked in several vintage shops around London and NYC. This experience in vintage shops mixed with prior work in the sewing and garment world led to our next step in opening a brick-and-mortar shop.
After getting married and moving back to the NYC area, we opened our first store Another Man’s Treasure in 2006 in Jersey City. Last year we celebrated 18 years in business and expanded to open a second location in Pasadena.
AMT LA is mostly womenswear focused, with higher end designer vintage, occasion wear and the unusual and rare. We are known for our colorful selection of statement pieces, interesting textiles, and novelty prints.
Our shop in Jersey City is more focused on classic and wearable vintage, trend driven selections, with affordability and accessibility as important factors as any in the curation.
We moved to the LA area 5 and a half years years ago. Meika was born in LA and always felt a yearning to come back and live here. After moving across the country and realizing we were where we needed to be, it was inevitable that we would want to open another store here. It was always in our minds to do that, but the pandemic temporarily put the idea on a back burner. With the rising costs of everything over the past few years, we were really feeling the need to bring in extra revenue... running a small business has never been more challenging than these past few years!
The concept for AMT LA was always to create a higher-end vintage boutique. We have been buying, selling and collecting rarer vintage for a long time, and had been dreaming of creating a store that specialized in those kinds of items, and so it seemed like the logical next step for us.
I think one skill we are exceptionally good at is blending a diverse curation of all eras, designers, and styles with cohesion.
Vintage shopping should be fun, and we always strive to give good value when pricing. Given the eclectic nature of our inventory, we carry a real mix of price points. You can find t-shirts anywhere from $45-$450, dresses from $85 to $850 and everything in between. We also carry designer vintage that can command higher price points.
AMT LA is a vintage collective featuring vendors from all around the country. Some of the current vendors in our LA store include Cherry Vintage, The Goods by Busy Lady Baca, Gossamer, Eveliina Vintage, Classic Coco, and Icon Style.”

Too Many Jackets by Rachelle Blanco
“I started Too Many Jackets in 2020. I am also a makeup artist in television and when the pandemic began, production was shut down and I started to think of other avenues for income and also to keep busy. I’ve always loved vintage and thrifting and sourced vintage Levi’s for friends as a hobby. I also had an (neglected) instagram where I sold my own clothing. So I decided to get serious about reselling and started sourcing for the shop instead of for myself, and that’s when it really took off. I love doing makeup and working with clients, but I really felt like I found my passion with vintage and finding those one of a kind, special pieces for clients.
I knew I wanted to open a brick and mortar store because I feel like you can’t really experience the magic of vintage without touching it, trying it on and seeing it in person. It took about a year and a half to find the perfect space, because LA is a competitive market, but I couldn’t be happier about my location in Silverlake.
I love the neighborhood and lived there for a few years, so I knew I wanted to be in this area. Everyone is so cool and stylish, it’s inspiring to be around all the creativity. And Virgil Village is becoming quite the hot spot! Courage Bagels and Good Friend are a few blocks from the shop, so I can grab my favorite bagel and coffee every morning before opening up.
My inventory is mainly 70s-90s with emphasis on color, pattern and sparkle. My own personal style is maximalist, so I love bringing interesting and exciting pieces into the shop. Whether it is an exquisite button or the perfect shape of a blazer, every piece I source has something special about it. My favorite vintage designers I am always on the lookout for are Escada, Versace, Victor Costa, Jeanne Marc, Criscione and Gianfranco Ferre. And I am always looking for that perfect blazer! I probably have over fifty in the shop currently, I can’t stop sourcing them because they are the perfect piece of clothing to go with any outfit.
The average price range is $100-$200, but it can vary. I have some more casual items under $100, but also have runway designer pieces that can go for over $2000. So there’s really a range. As long as it’s exceptional, I will carry it.
I like to say that when you come into the store, it’s like coming to your girlfriend’s house to play dress up. It brings me so much joy to help people discover a piece or outfit that they may not have imagined for themselves. I want people to know that there’s so much creativity with vintage that you don’t need fast fashion to have the wardrobe you’ve always dreamed of. But also, I’m not pushy, so if you want your space, you do you boo!”

Sunset Shop
“Established in January 2022, Sunset Shop is a women-owned vintage boutique, founded by Laura Garces and co-owned with Michele Morrissey and Amorita Ledesma. Each of us got into vintage at different times, taking our own unique path that brought us where we are now. We found the space, fell in love and the decision was easy.
We offer a curated collection of men’s, women’s, and children’s vintage pieces, sourced nationwide. Although Sunset Shop takes pride in offering vintage for every person, there are a few things we’re exceptionally good at. You will always find a beautiful selection of vintage denim, perfectly worn leather jackets, classic French coats and quality fabrics. We love linen, silk and cashmere, but also recognize the history in pieces with a little wear and tear. A little hole on a graphic tee can give such character!
Our mission is to provide vintage for everyone, accessible to everyone. Vintage Levi’s go for $45 to $85, while our coats range from $55-$175. We have plenty of accessories and items under $50.
We love engaging with our Echo Park community through events, collaborations with local small businesses, and neighborhood focused services. We host various workshops and creative events for our community in our space and event space next door, Threes. It’s so nice to couple with small businesses on the block to enrich our neighborhood.”
