Albany, NY

Beacon, NY
During the 1800s Beacon was known as “The Hat Making Capital of the US.” By 1890, the city was the leading producer of wool hats in America and would go on to house nearly 50 hat making factories. It was a booming industry during the Victorian era but by the Great Depression the hat factories were already starting to close.
