A very sweet mourning bonnet, that would have belonged to a child. The information provided to us indicated this piece would have been worn around the 1870s timeframe.
Made of black silk crepe, this little bonnet barely measures 5 inches across, by about 6 inches long; one gets the feeling this may have been for a toddler perhaps.
It is in near perfect condition, with the exception of the following: the left side where the ribbon attaches the crepe fold, needs to be retacked. There is a small patch of "something" about three folds up on the same left side. Not sure if this could be remo…
