Beautiful Victorian/Edwardian pigeon breasted bodice in a gorgeous wide woven fabric of black, off-white with a yellow stripe running across. Pleated fullness through the bust that tightens at the waist in a full pigeon waist. Wide standing collar with a burgundy trim. The pink buttons are for show, the actual closures are snaps under the packet. There is an extension panel at the center front as well as gussets under the arms and extensions at the back in black fabric. It looks as though these panels were added later. Short peplum. Lovely sleeve tabs topstitched at the cuffs with buttons. Full sleeve cap, leg-o-mutton sleeves. There is a button on twill tape at back of the collar, not sure what for, perhaps another collar originally buttoned on over the band.

Condition is good for it's age. Signs of general wear and age. Staining on front right bodice and sleeve, see pics. Snaps are old and most need to be replaced but I am leaving the originals bc, well, they're cool. Hooks at waist and wrists need to be replaced/tlc. The binding at the waist is showing wear, see pics. The binding at the back vent has come apart from the fabric and some fraying has occurred. Dry cleaned and ready to wear.
