Vintage from the 1950s

DESCRIPTION
* vintage hat from 1950s-1960s, made in Italy
* the hat is a part of a large collection of hats belongs to one woman in Rochester, NY. Her hats were never or rarely been used and all in great condition.
* rare novelty hat, features a long braided pigtail in the back and a short bang in the front
* boater hat design: shallow flat crown, with brim slightly curled up
* made of cream color straw
* the pigtail is made of blue raffia straw
* comes with an elastic strap to secure the hat
* tag reads "Made in Italy/ Styled by Carla D' Italia, Made in Italy"
* comes in a hat box from Sibley's. Sibley's was a Rochester, New York-based department store chain opened since 1868.
* the box is made with green-grey cardboard with a beige lid. The lid shows the black printed drawings of the original Sibley’s building on Main street and text "...in Rochester, its Sibley's"
* the front of the box has the previous owner's handwriting description and drawing "white straw/ blue pigtail"

CONDITION
* the hat is in great and clean condition and shows signs of little use.
The hat box is sturdy but has some wear and soiling. The lid's corners have some rips, please see the last photo.
