This fabulous jacket is French and dates to the 1930's! This coat is made of a sturdy burgundy felted wool with a black lining and a striped gray, blue and white sleeve lining. There are small metal rivets around the interior of the banded collar, probably they were used for attaching either an interior collar or a hood. I am not sure what this jacket was for, perhaps a household servants uniform in a lords manor or a bellhop's uniform maybe? The large gold toned metal buttons each show an engraved crown. If anyone knows the significance of this signet, please send us a message :) . There are 6 of these gorgeous, large heraldic buttons down the front and 4 smaller versions on the cuffs! The manufacturers information for the buttons in on the backside of each! There is one interior breast pocket. This is a very sturdy piece, perfect for a costume, wearing or wonderful for collectors! ~*~ ( E90 )

MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures approximately:

29 inches long

17.5 inch sleeves (from the underarm to cuff)

16 inch shoulder ( measured straight across the back seam to seam)

18 inches across the chest, laid flat from one underarm to the other

CONDITION : This coat is in as found, not freshly laundered dusty, linty condition. I recommend dry cleaning, this should clean beautifully but a few pale marks may or many not wash fully. The collar is slightly worn, with one small hole. There are a few pale marks on the front and back, and minor wear spots here and there on the wool. A wonderful vintage collectors textile ~!
