Trifari
Italian Gustavo Trifari started making jewelry in the United States in 1910. Trifari is known for its high-quality costume jewelry – affordable pieces that imitate fine jewelry materials and designs. Trifari jewelry from the 1930s until the end of the 1960s is especially valued, largely thanks to Alfred Philippe, who started working as Trifari’s head designer in the 1930s.
Some Trifari collectibles are crown brooches from the 30s-50s, so-called jelly belly brooches (lucite that resembled jelly!), and flower and fruit pins.
