American sporting goods brand Patagonia has long been hailed as the forerunner of sustainability, and for good reasons. Patagonia famously published an advertisement urging consumers not to buy their products in 2011 and has donated to several environmental and civil rights projects and campaigns. In 2013, Patagonia launched their own resale program called Worn Wear – years before other clothing brands joined the resale trend.

The company was founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973. In the vintage world, Patagonia’s fleece jackets are a hit item.
