Marimekko
The Finnish design company became wildly popular in the US after Jacqueline Kennedy purchased seven Marimekko printed cotton dresses when the presidential campaign was in full swing in 1960. In 1964, Maija Isola designed Marimekko’s most famous print, Unikko (poppy in English). Nowadays Marimekko’s 60s, 70s, and 80s print dresses are sought-after vintage gems. In recent years, Marimekko has collaborated with international brands such as Converse, Adidas, and Target.
