Josefa
Josefa Ibarra was a Mexican designer who incorporated indigenous colors and elements into her caftans and dresses which are now highly collectible. Josefa started her career by making jewelry. After some celebrities like Elizabeth Taylor spotted clothes she had made for herself in Puerto Vallarta, her label The Barefoot Eagle began to grow. The Barefoot Eagle had several stores in Mexico, was featured on the cover of French Vogue, and was loved by fashion models and film stars.
